I’ve had this car for over a year. I was told it had a bad timing chain. Now for a little update.
Okay, I’ve found the ignition system is working fine. I’ve replaced the internal fuel pump and then replaced the fuel distributor. It was not regulating the fuel and putting gas in the cylinders and causing it to flood the engine. A guy at the BMW place told it was bad and I replaced it. Now it doesn’t put any fuel to the cylinders. I replaced the warmup regulator, because it was supposed open the fuel distributor, but, alas, no difference. It still doesn’t run.
Don’t know what I’m going to do. I’ve run out of ideas. If I don’t get it fixed by the fall, I’ll probably get rid of it. That would be too bad, but it’s the way it may be.
It’s a 320i with a 1.8L engine.
